Angie's Gallery

Angie lives on Mercer Island, Washington where she balances her time between her family, her interior design business and her passion for creating art. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications as well as an Associates degree in Interior Design.

She paints in the Abstract Expressionist Style because she feels it mirrors her obscured vision of what may lie behind the veil of our human comprehension. Her focus on organic objects in nature has been a consistent theme in her work. She often strives to create an other-worldly depiction of people, birds and botanicals. She finds beauty and inspiration in all of the creations of the universe and strives to play off of them rather than simply recreate them. 

Her bold use of color and texture help her communicate a sense of vitality and energy in her pieces. She uses a variety of mediums ranging from Oil and Acrylic paint to Encaustic Wax and Oil Pastels, which enables her to achieve rich texture and a variety of color saturations. Angie’s artistic process is one of constant editing and carving away to arrive at the end result.
