Often traveling to far off wilderness areas, I do most of my work at midnight to 4 am. My work in astrophotography involves constantly learning, researching, and perseverance through many foiled attempts—the one lesson you learn quickly is to never trust the weather reports. I spend much of my time studying new methods, history, astronomy, and the cultures around lesser-known stories of the stars.
Through my work, I seek to share the stories of the stars. To showcase the natural beauty that surrounds us and to bring people to that quiet moment in the wild and show them the beauty of what lies outside. Through this, I seek to educate and encourage the preservation of our natural lands and dark skies.
“Our night skies are full of colorful history, far off dreams, and expansive star systems. Through my work, I seek to encourage people to protect our night skies and get out to explore our wonderous lands. Indigenous cultures all around the world have told stories that revolve around the stars above, and it is my goal to bring attention to these fading stories and showcase the natural beauty many of us are too busy to see.”

“Ocean of Stars” Astrophotography on high gloss metal. The waves were an electric blue to the naked eye that night. It’s a phenomenon called bioluminescence, and when I walked on the beach, it sparkled out from my feet and was a total Disney Princess experience.

“Branches of the Universe” Astrophotography on high gloss metal. The branches of the galaxy stretch out above the trees of the PNW. Nothing really beats getting out and camping in a beautiful dark area where the stars come out and shine in full force. It helps recharge the soul and get grounded with nature. I absolutely love stargazing after the campfire goes out and nothing but the stars are left shining above.
