the Hendrik where art meets function

The hand behind the Hendrik: artist Gerrit Schoo

A builder from a young age, Gerrit's earliest memories are working on projects with his dad.  Gerrit found an instant love working with his hands, whether building, deconstructing or practicing the fine art of welding at his Grandpa's welding company in Ferndale, WA.  At 25, Gerrit started, and still runs, his own construction company in Seattle where he resides with his wife and daughter.

Inspiration for the Hendrik

Gerrit's unrelenting passion for fine craft, wood, metal, and good design is inspired by the work of Edward Kienholz, Andy Goldsworthy, Charles Krafft, Frank Frazetta, and other talented craftsmen.  More art with function coming soon from Gerrit.

To clean stainless steel, wash using water and a microfiber cleaning cloth. For tougher messes add a few drops of dish soap. To clean and shine, you can use a glass cleaner on stainless steel surfaces. Manufacturers also make dedicated stainless steel cleaners. Two favorites are Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish and Bar Keepers Friend . Be sure to rinse any cleaners completely from the surface and buff dry.
